An OrganWise Breakfast for Your Kids

We loved the idea of making Valentine’s Day special by making a FUN and healthy breakfast for the whole family. Last weekend, one of our very own OrganWise families tried out this idea. As you can see, it was an easy way for kids to be involved in the process. They made heart-shaped, whole wheat pancakes with apple sauce instead of oil, eggs (egg whites can also be used) and low-fat milk. We let the kids be involved in the prep, (clean up!) and design of their pancakes.

Engaging little ones in the creation of meals inspires them to try new foods while learning important life skills such as reading, following directions, measuring, calculating and more. But most of all, they will remember the connection of quality time spent together. What better way to celebrate “Heart” day than that!

We topped off our pancakes with some fruit and a few dollops of light whip cream. It was a fun and delicious time for the whole family! liampancakes liampancakes2
