Spring Gardens

What a fun year we had with our schools and Head Starts in Mississippi and Louisiana that are participating in the Thriving Communities, Thriving Children grant (TC2)!

Thanks to funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, this past spring these sites had the opportunity to plant gardens at their schools and Head Start centers. As a way to promote good nutrition, children got to learn about the growing process of their favorite fruits and vegetables. In addition to each site getting creative and choosing their own seeds or seedlings to grow, they also used the OWG Garden Kit and Garden Signs to enhance nutrition education.

A big thank you to the schools and Head Start centers for sharing these garden photographs with us. Keep up the great work!
