We recently received an email from Chere Brown, a Family Nutrition Program Assistant with Mississippi State University Extension Service in Greene County, sharing with us the great work that has been going on in her county. The story was featured in their local newspaper, The Greene County Herald!
Second graders from Sand Hill Elementary participated in an Organ Wise Guys “Ideas for a Healthier World” contest. They have been learning about The OrganWise Guys all year, taught by, Chere Brown, MSU Extension Service, Family Nutrition Program Assistant. Each second grader had to come up with an idea using an OrganWise Guy to promote a healthier world. Each participant received a Great Idea Award Certificate and an OrganWise Guy.
We just love how this coincided with one of the books in our curriculum, Ideas for a Healthier World! It goes to show how creative and innovative you can be with this program! Thanks to Chere for sharing this with us and if you have your own great ideas, we would love to hear them as well!
