We are thrilled to share that once again this summer, there’s an exciting opportunity to expand nutrition education programming into your community. Thanks to generous funding from the Walmart Foundation, the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) has announced $1.8 million in grants available for summer camps to assist with summer feeding programs. This also includes The OrganWise Guys programming for 450 sites across the country!
The materials are designed for use during out-of-school time, including the all-important summer months, which studies show to be a time when children often lose
some of the health benefits they achieved during the school year.
This opportunity is for agencies to apply for multiple park sites in their communities so please pass this along to your Parks and Recreation partners. The application is very straightforward but the deadline is approaching so you must move quickly!
Applications are due at midnight EST on Thursday, March 5, 2015 with awards expected to be announced on April 3rd.
