Creepy Crawlers and Crunchy Carrots

Hi guys and girls!

It’s October, which means everyone is getting excited for Halloween! At school there will be lots of talk about ghouls, ghosts, and goblins. While it can be easy to get caught up in the talk of costumes and candy, it’s important to remember to keep eating healthy! This is the start of the holiday season, with Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas all right around the corner, so let’s enjoy the holidays, but still eat high-fiber, low-fat Organwise-approved foods! Make sure and get your fun coloring sheet and activity sheet for today!

Living OrganWise

Hi guys and girls!

This month is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. Childhood obesity is a major problem, but that’s why we continue to live OrganWise. Eating low-fat, high-fiber foods, getting plenty of exercise, and drinking lots of water are great ways to help prevent childhood obesity. It’s no coincidence that those are the rules of becoming an official OrganWise Guys Club Member. So stay healthy by living OrganWise and don’t forget to download your coloring sheet for today!

Enjoy your Labor Day Holiday!

Hi guys and girls,

Today’s Labor Day! I told you last week I was going to find out what exactly the Labor Day holiday was, and I did. Labor Day is celebrated the first Monday of September, and it is a holiday created to honor all of the accomplishments workers have made in our country. So that means that all the great things your teachers, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and more have accomplished, have helped to make our country what it is today. As you enjoy the day off from school, know that we need to keep working hard to continue the tradition of excellence that we love so much about this country. Make sure and get your coloring sheet for today, but don’t work TOO hard on it!

What's Labor Day?

Hi guys and girls,

Monday is Labor Day. We don’t have school, and there is already a neighborhood pool barbeque planned, but I can’t help but wonder, why? What is Labor Day? Is “Labor” a person like Abraham Lincoln or Martin Luther King, Jr.? I just don’t know. Lucky for me, that’s one of the best things about being a kid, you can always ask an adult for the answer. So tomorrow I’m going to ask my teacher what Labor Day is all about, and I’ll be sure to fill you in on Monday. If you’re looking for something to do on your day off, download and complete these coloring and activity sheets!

Tropical Paradise

Hi guys and girls!

Have all of you been vacationing in a beautiful tropical paradise this summer? If so, you’re one of the lucky ones! I’ve been hanging around the neighborhood with friends, but I’ve been pretending to be looking over the blue ocean from a hotel room on the beach. One thing that helps me think tropical is eating one of July’s Foods of the Month: tropical fruits. That means bananas, mangos, pineapples and more! Imagining yourself on the beaches of Hawaii makes eating sliced pineapple even better! So if you’re missing a vacation by the Atlantic or the Pacific, grab your favorite tropical fruit, close your eyes, and I’ll meet you on the beaches of our imaginations! You can even download the coloring sheet for today and take it outside to your tropical paradise!
