Energy Balance for Kids

Sir Rebrum Energy Balance for kidsIf you want to live a healthy life, you need to live a balanced one. It’s a simple idea and should be introduced to kids from an early age so they can create a habit of making healthy choices. We talk a lot about balancing the energy equation. Basically, it is important to balance the food that you eat (energy in), with your physical activity (energy out). If you stick to promoting this energy balance for kids when encouraging food choices and exercise, they will end up with healthier bodies!

Kids will certainly be interested to see what sparked Sir Rebrum to talk about energy balance today, so don’t miss the worksheet below!

Keeping kids healthy is one of the most important jobs a parent can have and one way to do this is to ensure they are eating enough fruits and vegetables each day. It’s so easy to choose unhealthy foods when you are tired out from the school day and extracurricular activities.

Try having single servings of fruits and veggies for kids readily available for easy decision-making. Accessibility and presentation is key when encouraging kids to make these healthy food choices.

Teach Kids to be Self Confident

Teach kids to be self confident Sir RebrumSelf confidence is a quality that can go a long way in every aspect of life. So, it is very important to teach kids to be self confident at an early age. When doing so though, remember to mention that being overconfident is not always a good thing; there is definitely a happy medium.

Using sports as an example of confidence is a great way teach kids to be self confident. This would probably be one of the easiest ways to have the kids relate and understand the whole concept.

Sir Rebrum talks about how success in a sport could lead to a little bit of over confidence and also finds out how that could end up hurting him. Get the worksheets to see what happened!

Learning is Fun For Kids

learning is fun for kidsIt sure is hard to believe that we are even talking about going back to school yet, as the summer seems to have just started. That’s usually how it goes though! Sir Rebrum brings up a great point, that sometimes it’s good to be challenged with academics and to also ensure recess and time with friends that is available on a daily basis at school. So if the kids start whining about back to school, make sure and remind them that learning is fun for kids and they will get to see all of their friends again soon.

Until that first day of school actually is here though, and you need a little something to entertain the kids, make sure and download the coloring sheet below because remember, learning is fun for kids!
