Did you know that there’s an exciting opportunity to expand The OrganWise Guys programming in your community? Thanks to generous funding from the Walmart Foundation, the National Recreation and Parks Association has announced $1.8 million in grants available for Out-of-School Time Programs, which includes funding for The OrganWise Guys SummerCamp/After School Kit for 500 sites across the country!
This kit is designed for year-round use during out-of-school time, including the all-important summer months, which studies show to be a time when children often lose some of the health benefits they achieved during the school year. Also included is our new “Organ”-ic Gardening Kit designed to get kids and their families enthusiastic about ‘growing’ a healthy lifestyle!
This opportunity is for agencies to apply for multiple park sites in their communities so please pass this along to your Parks and Recreation partners. The application is very straightforward but the deadline is approaching so you must move quickly!
Applications are due at midnight EST on Thursday, March 6, 2014 with awards announced in mid-April.
