Indulge this holiday season with some tasty citrus desserts! Citrus fruits like oranges are a December Foods of the Month. Simple orange slices are an excellent choice for a healthy dessert. Or, here are a few ideas to really impress your friends with more creative orange desserts!
Orange Cups – Cut an orange in half. Scoop out the insides so you are left with a “cup.” Mix together the orange flesh with nonfat plain Greek yogurt and a little bit of honey. Scoop the orange/yogurt mixture back into the cups and serve this fun dessert.
Orange Mango Smoothie – Blend together the segments from two peeled oranges with one peeled and chopped mango for a refreshing dessert smoothie.
Dark Chocolate Dipped Orange Slices – Peel and separate the segments of two oranges. Microwave 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips until melted. Dip 1/2 of each orange slice into the chocolate.
