These healthy fruit kabobs are sure to be a big hit at your upcoming 4th of July party. They also contain berries, a June Foods of the Month! These healthy treats on a stick are fun for kids to eat and the berries provide lots of antioxidants. To make these easy kabobs, here is our recipe:
1 carton of fresh strawberries
1 carton of fresh blueberries
5 kabob skewers
1. Wash the berries.
2. Cut the tops off the strawberries, then set aside
3. Cut the bananas into ½ inch thick pieces
4. Add the fruit to the skewers in a red, white, and blue pattern. Start with the strawberry (red), then add one banana piece (white), then add 3 blueberries (blue). Repeat this pattern on each skewer until you have used all the fruit.
Note – These kabobs can be made with any variation of red, white and blue fruit. Use watermelons, coconuts, and/or dark colored pitted cherries for more variety!
