Being OrganWise at Delgado Community College

Thanks to the great work of Ms. Mary Schultheis, Ms. Stephenie Marshall, Ms. Sheneda Jackson and staff at Crescent City Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Services in Gretna, LA, dietetic students at Delgado Community College are learning to be OrganWise!

Ms. Schultheis received a Healthy Incentive Project this year as part of the Thriving Communities, Thriving Children grant, which is funded by the WK Kellogg Foundation. In June, Crescent City Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Services staff visited Delgado Community College’s dietetic class. There, they shared information about healthy living using the OWG characters and the four healthy rules (low fat, high fiber, lots of water, and exercise) during a WIC Experience Presentation. This community college class allows students to learn more about their local WIC services though lectures and internships.

Thanks so much to Crescent City Women Infants and Children (WIC) Services staff and Delgado Community College instructor Mrs. Donna Pace for your hard work helping communities to become OrganWise!
