Holiday Traditions from the OWG Family – Karen

You may know Karen as the fast-talking problem-solver for The OrganWise Guys. She keeps us running and keeps us efficient! Her passion for healthy living has been a part of her life from the time she started the company with Michelle back in 1993! Here’s why Christmas Eve is her favorite part of the holiday season.

As far back as I can remember, Christmas Eve has been my favorite day of the Christmas season. As much as I loved the anticipation of ripping open presents on Christmas morning (and now enjoy experiencing my kids doing the same), the fellowship of the night before is to me what the season is all about. My parents always invited neighbors and friends, who did not have relatives close by, to stop over for some holiday cheer. Our house was always festive and welcoming and I looked forward to helping be the host.

Now that I have 3 children of my own, and my siblings have their families, we continue this tradition with my parents every year. We exchange presents, eat an abundance of un-OrganWise food, tell stories and laugh A LOT (my sister missed her calling in life as a standup comedian)! My kids and their cousins really enjoy hearing (sometimes edited) stories about the fun things my siblings and I did growing up. We still have the occasional “stragglers” stop by and that only adds to the memory bank of yuletide cheer for me.

I hope your holiday is full of warm memories and perhaps the start of your own family traditions. -Karen
