Happy July! What healthy foods are you eating to celebrate the warm summer weather? The OrganWise Guys are enjoying the July Foods of the Month, tropical fruits and corn! Celebrate the Foods of the Month (FoM) with us and read these simple tips on how to increase consumption of these nutrient-dense foods. Share these tips with your family, friends, and colleagues and we encourage you to try them for yourselves!
Tip 2: As school approaches, remember to pack yummy tropical fruits like tangerines, bananas, and mangoes for lunch. Also choose these fruits from your favorite salad bar.
Tip 3: Peri loves smoothies! Blend fat-free/low-fat yogurt or milk with tropical fruit + ice. If you freeze the fruit, skip the ice!
Tip 4: It’s summer so join the OWG for a BBQ! Try grilled tropical fruits and heart-healthy fish like salmon or tuna for a tasty addition to your summer dinners.
Tip 5: The OWG are having a pool party so enjoy a treat with them. Put fresh fruit chunks in the freezer (rinsed) and serve them frozen. Bon Appetite!
