We recently had the opportunity to participate in the Kid’s Wheel of Health Event at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA. It was a great day for kids and families to be active and learn how to make healthy choices. Our very own Hardy Heart made an appearance to encourage kids as they headed off to their race (12 and under participated in a 1k, 13 and over in a 5k).
We got to hang out with some of our very favorite educators from Health M Powers. They did a great job teaching kids about the brain, using their Nutrition Detectives materials and getting kids moving with some physical activity. We love working with these folks!
We were able to help educate kids about the Foods of the Month with our Foods of the Month Wheel Since the prize for answering correctly was an OWG Beanie, this was a popular activity!
Of course, many other great organizations were there as well including Strong4Life out of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, CVS, the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta and many others! BlueCross BlueShield of Georgia did a great job sponsoring this healthy day and giving the whole family a way to spend a beautiful Saturday morning.
