It’s that exciting time of the year for all college basketball fans … March Madness! Last week marked the beginning of the exciting journey to crown the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Basketball Champions. One of the most anticipated parts of the tournament is filling out your bracket and watching it implode (well, that may not be as fun). One other way to make the tournament fun is to include the entire family in the madness.
Here are some fun ways that you can make March Madness a family affair:
Pick favorites – Let the kids pick a favorite team each game. They can create signs and cheer them on along the way.
Watch games together – Get in some great bonding time by watching the games together. Plan some kid-friendly healthy snacks or meals for the big games and enjoy! It can be very competitive and exciting!
Teach life lessons – Sports is a fantastic way to teach your kids about hard work, determination, good sportsmanship, overcoming adversity, and teamwork. So teach away!
Play some basketball – Have your own family HORSE tournament or if you have enough people, try a 3 on 3 tournament. This is a great way to get in some physical activity in between all the games!
Even if your bracket is already busted, you can still enjoy the spirit of March Madness with the family, and what a great way to teach your kids about good sportsmanship and “losing” with grace!
