In March, we ate healthy meals that had stems and fish, both March Foods of the Month! For almost exactly $50, we made a tasty seafood pizza, some asparagus “fries,” a nutritious salmon dinner for the whole family, and a citrus salad with fennel. Here are some images of our foods, as well as the receipt.
What did we learn about budgeting this month? Fresh seafood can be just as inexpensive as frozen! The key is buying ONLY what you need! Since many grocery stores have a seafood counter, you can purchase the perfect amount of salmon or shrimp for your meal and avoid paying more for food that you may not use. Even better, be sure to check your grocery’s weekly circular before visiting since there are often good deals to be found!
