Since 1995, the third week in October has been deemed National Health Education Week (NHEW). It is sponsored each year by Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) in an effort to bring awareness to major public health issues and the importance of understanding the health educators’ roles in promoting health across the country.
This year, for National Health Education Week 2015, the focus is on the past, present and future of health education. You can promote NHEW by heading over to SOPHE’s website and checking out the planned daily themes.
We dedicate this week to each and every health educator out there … past, present and future, we appreciate you! We want to say a HUGE thank you to those who are working tirelessly to promote health and wellness all over our country. Specifically, we want to celebrate those who work with us to help fight childhood obesity! As they say, it takes a village!
What ways do you plan to promote National Health Education Week?
