OrganWise Family Thanksgiving Favorites

by The OrganWise Family

Since Thanksgiving is a time for family, we thought we would share again this year our favorite OrganWise Family Thanksgiving traditions. While we all strive to be healthy and OrganWise all year long, we definitely also appreciate the downtime, little indulgences and most of all, the togetherness with family and friends!

Michelle Lombardo

Michelle: One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving, (besides having all of our family and friends for the week) is deep frying our turkey! Although it is not the best “OrganWise” method of cooking a turkey, we just can’t seem to break away from this fun, festive holiday tradition! The meat is delicious!

Karen: A McNamara favorite for Thanksgiving is together time! With crazy schedules all year – even throughout the summer – this week is our time to chill and do nothing and everything together. We always have at least one set of grandparents on hand as well so special family recipes are always on the menu!

Caitlin: My favorite family Thanksgiving tradition is homemade STUFFING! The recipe comes from my great grandmother and is slow cooked in a crock pot. It consists of homemade whole wheat bread pieces, onions, celery, turkey sausage and chestnuts. I love eating it hot but it’s also become a tradition to eat it cold the next day for leftovers, yum!

Maria (1)Maria: Fall is my favorite time of year because it means the holidays and exciting traditions are upon us. My father-in-law is an amazing cook and we actually end up eating Thanksgiving Dinner twice!! It usually starts out with the family and then the second round of leftovers, our close family friends join in as well! With our busy lives throughout the year, there is just something to be said about having a few lazy days filled with family, festive meals and football!

Julie GreenJulie: Thanksgiving in the Green household is a very relaxed atmosphere. We do not have close family in the state of Georgia to visit so this is one time of the year when we stay home, eat and nap. Yes NAP! Our family stays busy with all of the kids’ activities throughout the year so Thanksgiving Break becomes a time to slow down, refuel on plenty of wholesome OrganWise food and catch a few zzz’s.

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for the many blessings in our lives as well as a chance to give our OrganWise Guys a time to rest and love the body they live in. Here’s to enjoying each and every one of your blessings!
