I just learned a great lesson this week that I’d like to share with you. For the past nine weeks, we’ve been having spelling tests every Friday. On Monday we get a new list and then take the test on Friday. I have been doing exceptionally well on all the tests. So this week, when it was time to take the cumulative test with all the words from the nine weeks, I knew I had it covered. After all, I had already been tested on the words once! While my classmates were nervously studying, reviewing all the old words, I was as cool as a cucumber. I was sure I knew how to spell all the words. When we took the test yesterday, guess who got the highest grade? No, seriously, guess, because I have no idea. It certainly wasn’t me! I did not do nearly as well as I should have because I was overconfident. The lesson: Not only did I learn not to be too proud to review things I’ve already learned, but I also re-learned how to spell some words. It’s not too late for you. You can learn from my mistake! Oh, and make sure to get your coloring sheet and activity sheet for today!
