If you follow our blog you may have noticed that The OrganWise Guys are training for a kid’s triathlon on the blog this month! Last year was an incredible year for me in the sport. I completed my first Ironman triathlon in December and had the opportunity to serve as swim coach for a local kid’s triathlon team, Tri Kids. As one of the fastest growing endurance sports, triathlon is a really fun way to get your kids (or whole family) moving. (more…)

Prior to having kids, I will admit, I did not cook much. And, when I say much, I mean hardly at all. My husband and I always enjoy(ed!) the dining out experience. However, once we had kids the entire dining out “experience” changed. When our first child was real young and she slept through dinner, we thought, “Hey, this isn’t going to be so bad … we can still enjoy our nights out.” (more…)

In the day and age of high-impact workouts and regimented exercise programs, simple things like taking a walk can easily get overlooked. Like many of you, I am a busy mom with a million daily tasks, stacks of laundry, a full time job AND 2 kids under the age of 3! In fact, my husband even jokes with me that my life is one big to do list. I am constantly wondering how I am going to get everything ‘checked off’ each day. Recently, it occurred to me that he is not joking about this! My life had turned into a daily list of chores and checkboxes! At the end of each day, I found myself discouraged that I still had SO much left to do but no time to do it! (more…)

Last week during my morning bootcamp, one of my fellow campers shared a great idea that I wanted to pass along for this week’s Wellness Wednesday! Heather is the mom of two adorable little boys who often show up to our bootcamp warm-up so she and her husband can switch places (he comes to the 6 am session, she to the 7 am one). As we were jogging along I asked her if her boys were excited about Easter. She said they were and also excited about the Candy Fairy. Intrigued, I asked her for more details. (more…)
