Second First Day of School

Hi guys and girls,

I told you last week that I did not have a great first day of school, but that I was going to try and turn things around so my school year wasn’t full of bad days. So, on Thursday I did just that. I initially didn’t have any of my friends in class, but Hardy got moved into my class, and we met the other kids in class, who all seem really fun. I was also worried that my teacher was going to be tough and I was correct in that. It is going to be a hard year, but she is also very funny and keeps class interesting, so that’s good. So was my first day bad?  Yes. Has it turned around? Absolutely. It’s going to be another great school year!OWG_Blog_Art_8-19-13

First Day of School

Hi guys and girls,

Yesterday was the first day of school, and it was pretty bad. Yes, you read that right.  It was bad. I’m not in the class with all my friends, my teacher seems really hard, and I already have homework! Also, I tripped getting off the bus in the morning, and then I spilled my milk all over the table at lunch. Needless to say, I was pretty upset when I got home, but after talking with my parents, I realized this is a chance for me to rise up to a challenge. Today, I’m going to put on a happy face and make the best of it. That’s the plan at least. I’ll let you know how it goes. For those of you starting school soon, I hope your first day goes better than mine! And don’t forget to print out today’s coloring sheet and activity sheet!OWG_Blog_Art_8-15-13

Eventful Day!

Hi Guys and Girls,

Wow wee! Just leaving Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it may be my favorite stop on the whole trip! We got to do so much: paddle boat on a pond, ride a train, visit the zoo, and stop by the aquarium. The fish were so colorful at the aquarium that I couldn’t believe my eyes! But I am getting ahead of myself, so let me start at the beginning.

Miss Goodhealth brought us to Tingley Beach to start off the day. This isn’t a normal beach, but an area that has four ponds for fishing and other activities, like paddle boats. The Kidney Brothers joined me in a paddle boat, because you know they never pass up an activity that involves water, even if it is just riding on top of it! After the paddle boats, we took a train ride over to the zoo. It was a really cool experience, as I never rode a train before. At the zoo, we saw zebras, rhinos, kangaroos, apes, and even an ostrich! I asked the zookeeper if I could share some of my apple with the giraffe we saw, and he said yes! Animals need to be aware of low-blood sugar too! We then ended the day at the aquarium, watching the beautiful fish swim around.

I bet I’ll be dreaming of those fish all week! Hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as we are enjoying ours! And don’t forget to get our coloring sheet and activity sheet for today!

St. Patrick's Day Chocolate?

Hi Guys and Girls,

Some of you may remember that my goal for the year was to not eat so much chocolate. I’m happy to report I’m doing better. I had a little hiccup last month with Valentine’s Day, as some kids handed out chocolate with their valentines. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t resist it all, so I may have had a few pieces too many. Thankfully, St. Patrick’s Day is ‘all about the green’ and luckily for me, chocolate is not green! Fruits and veggies are, so I’ve been eating a lot of those in celebration (and also because they are delicious). Hope all of you are doing well with your yearly goals! If you are having a tough time with them, don’t worry, we all do. Just keep working hard! And be sure to download our coloring sheet and activity sheet for today!

Foods of the Month

Hello fellow OrganWise Guys Club Members,

I hope all of you have been joining me in my year-long quest to eat more Foods of the Month each month. If you haven’t, no worries, you can start this month! This month’s foods include stems and fish. Stems? Yes, stems. That is just a fancy way to say asparagus and celery. (Next time you want a snack, try celery and peanut butter, you’ll get some ‘stem’ and protein). Also, if your parents ask you for a dinner suggestion, tell them you want to try some salmon. It’s the least fish-y kind of fish. Besides, your parents will be impressed by your sophisticated tastes :).

Don’t forgot today’s coloring sheet and activity sheet!
