Healthy Grilling

Did you know that July is National Grilling Month? Summer is the best time to have those family barbecues with all of those tasty grilled foods. Cooking food on a grill provides the opportunity for some really great flavors to be cooked into some healthy foods!

Celebrate Park and Recreation Month

The entire month of July is Park and Recreation Month! The annual monthly celebration encourages people to get out and experience the benefits of parks and recreation – from health and wellness to nature and everything in between. The theme this year, “OUT is IN,” is all about getting more people OUTside and INspired through community parks and recreation. We are SO excited to be working with a number of parks and recreation sites around the country and we love that they are focusing on creating healthier children!

The Lazy Days of Summer

It’s official, summer is finally here! I’ve been dreaming about these days since January. I had these wonderful plans in my head to limit screen time, engage my kids in amazing active learning opportunities, and essentially, be mom of the year. Well, I’ve found out why the phrase “Lazy days of summer” exists; it’s because this mom is tired and admittedly lazy. The learning opportunities for my kids have turned into learning about what cartoons are available on the TV and the activity is unfortunately limited to how fast they can move their fingers on their video games.

Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation Get OrganWise!

Hardy Heart was so excited to be part of the Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation (GCPR) Summer Feeding Program Kick-off in Georgia. GCPR won a national award from National Recreation and Park Association to include The OrganWise Guys programming into ALL of their parks for year-round wellness education. The OWG are very proud to have their HOME county win this award! Hardy even made a new friend – Chopper from the Gwinnett Braves!
